Play & Creative Arts Therapy
Play Therapy is a therapeutic approach where play and artistic expression are used as the primary methods for children and young people to express deep emotions that may cause difficulties and manifest as undesired behaviors.
During Play & Creative Arts Therapy sessions, children and young people explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in creative and self-reflective ways. This approach allows them to address and process their issues without the need to articulate their concerns verbally, making it especially effective for those who may struggle to express themselves through words.
During a Session
In Play Therapy sessions, children explore their emotions through creativity and express themselves using various media, including:
drawing and painting, water and clay, sand trays and miniatures, therapeutic stories and relaxation techniques, drama and puppetry, poetry, literature, writing, movement, and music.
